On December 20, 2024, in the building of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan a meeting between a representative of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and employees of the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held.

The meeting was attended by the Head of the Department of Analysis and Prospective Analysis of Regional Security Issues of the Center, Candidate of Historical Sciences Sharifzoda Saidhomid Safar, and the Head of the Department of the Institute of Strategic and Interregional Studies Rakhmatov Zhasur Zhdamsherovich and Nurridinov Umarbek Komoliddin ugli — a senior researcher at this Institute, and other representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Tajikistan.

At the beginning of the meeting, Sharifzoda Saidhomid welcomed the guests to Tajikistan and the Center for Strategic Research, noting that Uzbekistan is a strategic partner, ally, and reliable partner of Tajikistan, and relations with this country are built based on indissoluble bonds of mutual friendship, good neighborliness, and respect for mutual interests.

During the meeting were analyzed and discussed the development of cooperation between the two intellectual centers, the achievements of the countries in the fields of trade, economy and culture at the bilateral and multilateral levels.

In this context, it was emphasized that the multifaceted cooperation between the countries is developing year by year and we are achieving significant progress in all areas of cooperation.

It was noted that, the contribution of the heads of the two countries, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the completion of their mutual official and state visits, is enormous to the development of cooperation between the countries.

It was noted that both countries pay great attention to the issues of further expanding trade and economic relations, developing separate programs in the fields of agriculture, industry, and introducing new technologies, implementing large-scale transport, infrastructure, and logistics projects, effectively using economic and trade resources, hydropower resources, as well as cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian spheres, and other pressing issues of the day.

At the same time, it was noted that today our Heads of State consistently emphasize that in the current conditions of rapid global change; there is a need to form a unified position on the future of Central Asia.

In this context, the development of cooperation between the countries within the framework of the Central Asian Consultative Meetings was emphasized, and their contribution to strengthening multifaceted cooperation and increasing the prestige of the Central Asian region was considered important.

In this context, it was emphasized that the countries are committed to strengthening cooperation in the sectors of e-commerce, digital technologies and energy, especially green energy, as key factors for the development of a green economy in the region.

The meeting was held in a spirit of good understanding and constructive dialogue.
